Stagecraft: Week 2
(August 30-September 2, 2021)

If ABSENT, you are REQUIRED to read / understand / do all learning activities posted for that day, even if it's not an "assignment".
Day 1:
1.) Ms. Price introduced students to her website, and instructed them to check the website if/when absent.
2.) Read / Discussed Class Syllabus (available on Stagecraft page of Ms. Price's website and on Google Classroom)
3.) Reviewed different types of stages & also how scenic designers envision the "world of the play" (what the musical/play should "feel"/look like) / what it takes to create those "worlds".
4.) Discussed who builds the scenic designers' visions (Set Construction Supervisor with Crew of builders, painters, and artisans)
5.) Discussed: In order to effectively work in a scene shop, you need to...

6.) Learned the names of Fastening Tools (see "Fastening Tools" page in your Class Notes in Google Classroom and fill in the following tool names). If absent, be sure to fill in the names of these tools in your CLASS NOTES in Google Classroom (page 3).

7.) Took a quick Stage / Backstage / Front of House Tour of the Oxford Fine Arts Center and reviewed/learned various stage terms that students need to know for this class.
Day 2:
1.) Reviewed who builds a set and how. Reviewed "Fastening Tools".
2.) Learned the names of Painting Tools (see "Painting Tools" page in your Class Notes in Google Classroom). If ABSENT, be sure to add these tool names in your notes....

3.) Went to the scene shop to learn and perform tasks in rotating groups:

Day 3:
1.) Reviewed who builds a set and how. Reviewed "Fastening Tools" & types of stages.
2.) Learned about various (additional) stage terms by watching KP's Theatre Class - Stage Terms and taking notes (see Class Notes in Google Classroom) If absent, be sure to watch this video and take notes in Google Classroom on your own. You are responsible for this information.
3.) Finished scene shop rotations (see Day 2). If absent, be sure to let Ms. Price know when you return so you can get caught up in the above skills
