  • place for family heirloom vase (p 109)

PLAN

  • BUIILD a large house interior 2-story structure that will live upstage during the show (similar to the how the castle did last year in Beauty & the Beast).  The house will be approximately 45' wide and will be sectioned into three 15' wide "chunks" that create the home:  George's study (SR), the grand entryway (CS), and the staircase to the 2nd floor (SL)

    • Inspiration for the 3 sections of the home can be seen in the first image below.  However, the sections of the set will be different from those pictured and will include study / entryway / staircase from SR to SL.

  • Team Lead:  Tony Williams

MP2.backdrop - BUILD, NOT RENT (Banks Home Interior).png

  • lights that pulse (must have sconces on wall)

  • children & Mary Poppins need to be whisked up the chimney and on to the roof

  • Scenes must seamlessly go from nursery interior to rooftop & actors need a way to get there (i.e. from inside chimney to above the nursery on the roof)

  • Characters (and family) must be seen through a nursery window (roof-side).

  • Scene 11

    • reveals Bert on Chimney

    • a way to Mary to get to roof (script says chimney, but could also be door/balcony and a way to climb to Bert

PLAN:

  • BUILD a two-sided nursery set piece that will play DS from the house interior.  One side is the nursery, and the 2nd side is the roof slope & rooftop.  The piece will ROTATE on stage and must fit in the wings (length) and between the 2nd set of legs (width)

  • See an example of how to "engineer" collapsing shelves HERE.

  • Lead:  ?

I'd like for it to be a BASEMENT kitchen with the main design element being pipes.

Stairs (or landing stairs) from main house could be used to come down into kitchen.

Main wall unit of kitchen will include an inset for stove or counter as pictured to the left.

SL wall unit will include a "basement" window with small bush visible (for bird).
