Stagecraft Week 11:  What's BACK there? 
Make-up & Hair
(October 30 - November 3, 2023)

Important terms are in RED.

Google Classroom assignments are in BLUE.

Ms. Price provides ALL learning for absent students in a self-directed format

Just read & understand/complete each of the day's activities below.  You are EXPECTED to be caught up before your return.

DAY 1: 

1.)  Chose an area (from the IB Learner Profile) to individually focus on this week.  (If absent, be sure to complete this under in your REFLECTION JOURNAL (week 11) in Google Classroom.  Discussed the class focus of TRUST for this week.

2.) Rehearsed then Competed against other groups performing your group's costume quick change

  • Quick Change Stations (students were required to follow what needs to be prepped - and in what order - for your quick change)

(1/2 of the class went to scene shop for set building)

3.) Watch:  Creating Old Age Make-up (3:47) to learn the basics of how to do "old age" make-up.  (If absent, be sure to watch on your own.)

4.)  Practiced old age make-up on each other.

DAY 2:

 

1.) Watched  a video (Working in Theatre: Make-up - 0:00-10:04) and responded in REFLECTION JOURNAL (week 11) in Google Classroom about 3 new things you learned about make-up or theatre make-up design.  (If absent, be sure to watch and complete journal entry on your own.)

2.)  Completed #3-4 from Day 1.

DAY 3:

1.) Watched:  Wicked: Hair & Wigs (4:36) and responded in REFLECTION JOURNAL (week 11) in Google Classroom about 3 new things you learned about wigs/hair for theatre.  (If absent, be sure to watch and respond in your journal on your own.)

(1/2 of the class went to scene shop for set building)

2.)  Observed/READ each of the theatre make-up "Face Charts" below to learn about the basics of each type of theatrical make-up.  (If absent, be sure to read each below.)

3.) Practiced basic stage make up (contouring for male/female features) OR one of the following...

  • Old age make-up​

  • Creating believable bruises and wounds

  • Vintage Glam (ex: 1940's pin-up style make-up)

  • Creating believable sick or ill looks

DAY 4:

1.) Completed final question for Week 11 in Google Classroom REFLECTION Journal.

(1/2 of the class went to scene shop for set building)

2.)  Completed #2-3 from Day 3.
